I-MED'S MODEL For Success in Medicine Globally

I-Med's prototype centers for his international project utilized all of I-Med's concepts and systems and incorporated ideas learned from setting up centers for clients. The I-Med model shows that the centers do not have to start with any patient base what-so-ever, be in a major urban or suburban area, or have less space, equipment or staff than centers with greater population bases.  I-Med's centers certainly reach profitability sooner, when an existing practice is "merged" into the I-Med center model, but this is not a requirement for profitability.  Many clients opt to use this model for their own centers, instead of doing more expensive and time-consuming customized plans, as this service is part of the project fee.  Basic working drawings are available from I-Med for US$25,000, which can then be used by local engineers and contractors to build this type of facility.

Generally, we have found very few existing medical centers that meet our stringent requirements. We have also noted in our research (backed by thousands of hours of consulting and legal work) that other successful corporations and franchises have started new businesses rather than acquiring existing ones. To try to build our new network by purchasing existing centers would be similar to Wal-Mart buying mom & pop department stores or McDonald's buying corner diners or delis. Our extensive involvement with national chains, multiple site centers, HMO's and PPO's have shown that our business philosophy will provide greater profitability and long term survival in a rapidly evolving global market.  I-Med's exclusive contacts in many nation's give it the ability to operate without competition for a period of time, sufficient to introduce American style walk in medical centers to international markets. All of our clients will be offered the opportunity to join this international, if they utilize I-Med's model.

In addition, while many firms have relied upon US based provider networks, these clearly do not meet the needs of multi-national companies doing business in over 180 recognized nations.  Our model is so new and unique that it would be futile to try to manage and operate existing centers that have no common layouts, few common instruments, different billing and accounting systems and staffing levels that are inconsistent with our findings.  In fact, we highly question many organizations that are buying existing medical practices with no regard to the clinical standards, profitability after the physician has sold their ownership and little standardization of equipment, systems and treatment regimens.  Even a large US based provider will find non-US markets largely hostile and protective of their current health care providers. Our model allows local ownership, local management and local staff to provide services. The only requirements for staff members are a working knowledge of English and proficiency for the job for which they are hired (bolstered by training at our own educational facilities). Our clients benefit greatly from our work in this area and our understanding of US and international health needs.

These international experiences have been clearly beneficial to our clients, broadening our own internal knowledge of health care systems and management utilized globally. Although the US is the leader in medicine, we have garnered many creative ideas and practical solutions from health care providers in other nations.
